Chevrolet or Chevy, take your pick. It’s a preference thing and not everyone would say one over the other unless it fits within the sentence. There are obvious examples of this but I won’t dive into all the specific examples other than to suggest you decide which ones work and which do not. This was a marketing decision made at the top of a global corporation, and it really doesn’t matter to them if you use either one over the other.
Chevy is just using this as a way to streamline a decision making process that likely eats up a lot of their marketing resources. Should they use Chevy or Chevrolet on those print ads, how about the emails to new customers, or any other marketing material they may produce.
It may also be that the name Chevy is a bit more casual and relaxed than they want the experience to be when being introduced to their lineup for the first time. Its an image that they appreciate and embrace, but it’s also a feeling of what someone is actually buying should represent very distinctly the brand and quality of a standard and legacy of the Chevrolet products.
According to Alan Batey, Chevy is their nickname, and they want people to continue to use the name but because of their growth into these worldwide markets they want people to associate their products with one uniform brand name and that is Chevrolet. I’m sure this may have been a bit overrated in terms of a good story to break from GM’s media department because in the end its the product and features of that product that make the meaning here.
Take Corvette, and think whether or not it’s important to prefix that with either Chevy or Chevrolet, there is no reason to. The brand is as much it’s own entity as Chevrolet is to GM.
If you were to do research into these words even further, you can find definitive results that indicate which ways people prefer to use them in their online search.
And if you look at the way people use search engines, Chevy is by far the winner because thats just how people have become accustomed to searching for the models they want.

The Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid is a powerful full-size two mode pickup which attains 40% better fuel economy over conventional full size pickups – not bad for a full size truck with a 6,100 pound hauling capacity.
General Motor’s two-mode hybrid system combines the dominant 6L V8 engine that can operate in either 4 cylinder or 8 cylinder mode, with a 300 volt battery pack powering two powerful electric motors. The Silverado Hybrid in electric-only mode is capable of operating without the use of it’s gasoline engine to speeds of 30 MPH – this helps in saving gas especially in city driving where there is a lot of stop and go traffic.
The Silverado comes in both 2WD or 4WD versions, and an electronically controlled automatic transmission. The two electric motors actually sit in the bellhousing of the transmission, quite a clever way of packaging this new technology without disrupting the drivetrain configuration.
The Silverado Hybrid is the only full size truck with 5- star side impact crash ranking in the federal crash test. The 2 mode Hybrid system provides flawless and steady power. The electric motor is half the size when compared to the single mode Hybrid systems. The 2 mode system was initially introduced in 2008 Tahoe Hybrid.
It is the central part of GM’s strategy, reducing our dependence on oil, improving fuel economy with electric motors, and eventually eliminating emissions.

A new model recently entered the compact segment of the auto industry compliments of Chevrolet. Introductions were made at the New York International Auto Show and the ‘Eco’ in the model name: Cruze Eco hints to the consumer the 2011 Cruze Eco may be: eco-friendly for the economy minded.
Chevrolet’s Cruze Eco will be available to purchase the later part of 2010. The MSRP is not known yet, however, Jim Campbell, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet marketing does give this away, “The Cruze Eco delivers hybrid-like efficiency without the price tag.” Chevrolet has offered many other details.
The 2011 Cruze Eco is a compact–housing a 1.4-L turbocharged Ecotec engine delivering 138 horses and 148 lb.ft. of torque. The new compact achieves 0 to 60 in 10 seconds using a manual transmission and in 9 seconds when put to the test using an automatic transmission.
Chevrolet estimates that the Cruz Eco will get 40 mpg highway when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and offers the owner an estimated 500 miles of driving freedom between fillips. Competitively speaking this should put Chevy Cruze Eco on top in the compact segment industry-wide in fuel economy. Chevrolet also suggests that the Ecotec turbo can offer more power upon need; however, the four cylinder small displacement is sufficient during routine drives.
GM media reports that The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco is the big brother of many Chevrolet small/compacts to come that will offer consumers “excellent fuel economy, outstanding quality and top safety ratings.” Chevrolet will build the Cruze models to be sold in the U.S. and Canada at their plant Lordstown, Ohio.
Chevrolet engineers worked to grant the consumer better fuel economy not only under the hood but also worked on aerodynamics, weight control, and worked to alleviate rolling resistance. GM media suggests this is how some of the areas were addressed:
*Lower front grille air shutter closes at higher speeds improving aerodynamics and opens at lower speeds optimizing engine-cooling airflow
*Lower front air dam extension, extensive use of underbody panels and a rear spoiler enhance aerodynamics

One look at the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is all it takes to understand the surge in sales, a surge that beat Camaros own January, 2010 figures by 21 percent. According to Chevrolet, “The Chevrolet Camaro extended its lead in the U.S. sports car segment in February, posting 6,482 sales.” Camaro total sales have outpaced other sports cars including Nissan 370Z, Ford Mustang, and Dodge Challenger for nine months in a row. And not only are the competitor cars experiencing lower sales than Camaro, many non-traditional Chevrolet customers and those owning competitor cars are trading them in for the Camaro.
And who can blame them? Visually appealing, the Camaro moves from the big screen to the highway losing none of its testosterone spewing star quality. All it takes is the open road and a driver that respects the exceptionally designed and engineered vehicle to understand Camaros extreme popularity.
The rebirth of Camaro in early 2009 was eagerly anticipated by auto and Camaro enthusiasts. Since the launch, Chevrolet has sold 75,000 Camaros and sales continue to climb with Texas, California, and Florida accounting for about 25% of all retail sales. Texas owns the title for ‘top 10 U.S. dealers for Camaro.’
With buyer demand being stiff GM’s Oshawa Assembly Plant in Ontario Canada has been running Saturdays since June 2009 to keep up with demand for the fifth generation Camaro.
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro comes in five trim levels, the LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS with the LS and LT packing the 3.6L GM LLT V6 making 304 horses. The spine tingling SS offers a manual transmission geared up with a 6.2L V8 that rocks 426 menacing horses.
There are times when a photo or the actual experience speaks louder than the most researched article. This is one of those times. Why are sales for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro ahead of its competitors’ sales? If you need to ask, it is time to visit your local Tulsa Chevy dealership, Roberts Auto Center.

The Chevy Tahoe a big ride for families or businesses on the go; those who carry their gear with them on a regular basis or tow it to the next adventure. There are many vehicles that can do most jobs routinely: commuter cars, sports cars, crossovers, and pickups but sometimes nothing gets the job done and in the style desired like Chevy’s full-sized SUV, Tahoe.
The 2010 Tahoe offers a quiet ride in a cavernous cabin that seats up to nine people (however the third row of seats won’t fold flat requiring it be removed should that space be needed for cargo), a creaseless powertrain, and towing capacity of up to 8,200 pounds. The Tahoe comes in three trims: LS, LT, and LTZ. No problem deciding on which engine power because the 2010 Tahoe offers one standard version: a 5.3-liter V8, with E85 capability.
Also new for 2010 are front seat-mounted side airbags and a USB audio connection. Each trim offers a full array of various luxirious features like dual-zone manual climate control, rear air-conditioning, leather-wrapped tilt steering, OnStar, six speaker stero with CD player, satellite radio, and auxiliary audio jack and USB audio jack, blind-spot warning system and much more.
Tahoe offers a six-speed automatic transmission standard and rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive models are also marketed. For 2010, Chevy also offers the 4WD Tahoe with a choice of traditional two-speed transfer case or a single-speed unit.
Expect figures like these when talking performance, zero to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds and EPA estimated fuel economy tested out at 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway and 16 mpg combined either in 2WD or 4WD.
This great versatile vehicle can be purchased for a suggested MSRP of $37,280 and will take you just about anywhere you and your friends and family wish to go in unique Tahoe bigger than life style!

The Chevy Silverado series, considered one of the most dependable and long-lasting pick-up trucks is once again pushing the envelope with engines from 195 horsepower to 403 horsepower. The 2010 Silverado 1500 proves it is the vehicle to have winning the 2010 Vincentric’s Best Value in America Award for dependability and reliability in a full sized truck.
Manufactured by General Motors, the 2010 Chevy Silverado will be a popular truck amongst businesses such as general contractors. These companies can rely on the Silverado to deliver a solid drivetrain while hauling heavy loads.
With this recent addition, the 2010 Chevy Silverado will again uphold the features of comfort and durability that it has always been known for from its predecessor pre-2007 and classic Silverado models, a history that radiates durability, dependability, power, and adaptability.
The 2010 also offers customers the best fuel economy in full sized trucks in the country at 22 highway and all conventional V-8 engines can run E85 ethanol blended fuel or gasoline.
The 2010 Chevy Silverado is more than just a pick-up truck, it’s a truck designed for the modern era, while preserving a noted history from the Chevy Silverado editions known for their dependability and endurance.
The 2010 Chevy Silverado, a powerful pick-up truck, is offered in optional engine strengths. The 4.3-liter V6 engine generates 195 HP with about 260 lbs. ft. of torque. The vehicle is also marketed with a 6.20-liter Vortex V8 engine. The power generated has historically performed to satisfy the customer in need of a durable pick-up truck.
The customer can choose from two different interior designs: luxury, or a “pure” pick-up/work truck design. The luxury package offers leather seats, high-tech stereo and speakers, and many more features. On the other hand, a “pure” pick-up option has less interior features but what makes it significant is that the interior can be easily cleaned because of the high-class durable materials used. This option is appropriate for those who envision their Chevy Silverado as a “workhorse” pick-up truck.
The Chevrolet Silverado truck upholds a tradition of excellence in the field with its record of durability and endurance. The 2010 Chevy Silverado continues that legacy.

The Chevy Malibu is well known for being a great family car, and it also has bragging rights with its fuel efficiency pushing 33 MPG. That basically equates to about 500 highway miles on one tank of gas. If you’re thinking that’s nearly “hybrid” type numbers, your right, but it doesn’t mean you should pay extra for something that will only give marginal results.
The fact is GM is providing hybrid like efficiency without trying to charge hybrid prices. If there was a significant gain in efficiency, then it would be a different story, but that is not the case. You can sense that GM is making a smart move here despite the media crawling all over them about not offering the hybrid version of the Malibu but when it doesn’t make sense why should you pay for it.
There is so much media influence these days that it’s really tough to get unbiased information so that leaves the consumer having to do much of their own research. The dealers are able to provide good data, and those that do will be able to win over the buyers who may be just browsing. By providing useful information that new car buyers can collect and then interpret based on their own needs and interests, it allows people to not only learn about the cars but more about why the manufacturers make the decisions that they do. The media can always spin it, so having access to the information will allow you to filter out the information you need.
When you are looking at a vehicle its clear that mileage is only one factor in the decision, while other factors may be interior appearance, utility, and features you like. Finding a vehicle that is within your budget involves having some knowledge about your driving habits, distance you live from work, and number of miles you drive each year. By carefully analyzing and perhaps reducing your driving habits you can then afford to consider whether mileage is as important as having a luxurious interior.

When considering a vehicle, an electric powered car that doesn’t have the limitations of relying solely on batteries, everyone wants to know how much and when they can buy one.
The Chevy Volt isn’t being produced yet, but GM can certainly see the demand over the web and in showrooms. The car is much more likely be a popular model if there is competition and anticipation over its arrival. The Volt hasn’t been built, however there are dealers who are taking deposits and trying to offer a vehicle that has an unclear launch date. It is very encouraging to see GM coming out with a vehicle to rival the competition which is mostly the Toyota Prius.
The Volt is different in the way that it generates it’s electric power through the engine. The engine, which is a E-85 powered generator that provides the Volt’s electricity to an electric drive unit.
The batteries are sustained through the vehicles ability to recharge them through it’s electric drivetrain. The car has been designed to minimize the use it’s battery pack, which involves an electric motor that is running to keep the charge.Unlike most hybrids, the Volt isn’t one becuase it has only one drivetrain, which is an electric one. The use of this type of system is great for small trips.
